Ingredients

  • 1 big carrot, cubed
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chopped ham (optional)
  • 1 lb dried navy beans
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 smoked ham shank
  • 8 cups water

Instructions

  • Sauté the onion, celery, carrot, and optional ham in the Ninja Foodi until onions are translucent.
  • Rinse and drain dried navy beans, then add to the pot with garlic, bay leaf, and thyme. Place ham shank on top and pour in water.
  • Pressure cook for 30 minutes, then perform a quick release.
  • Remove the smoked ham shank, shred the meat, and return it to the soup.
  • Stir in freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
